Aloe
Vera Juice

You
will be very glad that you read this article before you began
juicing or adding whole
Aloe vera
leaves to smoothies! Doing so may have saved you
from intense and painful diarrhea, followed
by a long period of constipation.
"But wait!'
There's more!"
Don't
give up on the idea of Aloe vera
juice because of the rind. The Aloe vera
inner leaf
gel is one of the more beneficial super-foods on
Earth. There are just a few things you
need to know first ...
1. Do not include the
outer rind in what you consume. The
outer rind contains aloin, an addictive
laxative that might clean you out in the
beginning, but will make it increasingly
more difficult to attain a normal bowel
movement in the future. Aloin has been
removed from the FDA's "Generally Recognized
As Safe" (GRAS) list, for good reason.
2. The
inner leaf gel contains acemannan, a
very beneficial health-enhancing
polysaccharide that is known to support the
immune system, stomach/intestinal health and
glucose balance. There are several things
for you to know about this.
-
All Aloe vera is NOT created equal.
The acemannan content of the inner leaf
gel is dependent upon soil, moisture and
sunlight conditions, fertilization
substances and techniques, etc. It is
unlikely that the Aloe plant you have
growing in your window or garden
contains a high level of acemannan. This
means that you will need the gel from
many times the number of leaves from
your own supply as you would need from
an organic plantation on volcanic soil
in a tropical environment where the
workers often fertilize each plant with
a fish.
-
Acemannan is subject to very rapid
degradation beginning immediately
upon the leaf being separated from the
plant. For fresh Aloe to provide much
value from the acemannan it contains, it
must be harvested locally, then consumed
almost immediately.
-
The raw inner leaf gel isn't the most appealing
substance to gulp down. Most people
will choose to mix it with water or
fruit juice to be able to consume
adequate amounts for health support.
-
Very few of the Aloe vera
products on the market contain any
viable acemannan. The International Aloe Science Council
has recently taken the stand that finished products must
contain acemannan in order to accurately state that they
contain Aloe vera.
Bottled Aloe Juices
When
I first began experimenting with Aloe
vera extracts for my health, "fresh"
Aloe juice seemed like a great idea. I
bought the various "Manapol®"
juices manufactured by Carrington
Laboratories by the case. At the time,
Carrington was known to produce the best
of the best, so I was confident I was
doing something good. Then once, when I
was re-ordering, the customer service
rep from Carrington asked why I was
buying so much juice rather than just
getting their "Manapol® Tablets or powder." She advised me that,
not only was the juice "stabilized" with
a toxic chemical to keep it from going
bad, there was more acemannan in a
single tablet than there was in a whole
quart of the juice.
A
little research after that revealed to
me that ALL liquid juices that are
bottled and sold without constant
refrigeration have to be "stabilized."
Since one of my goals was to reduce
toxicity, as a general rule I have
ceased to consume bottled beverages of
any kind, especially juices that are
purported to be "healthy.".
Re-constituted Aloe Juices
Carrington laboratories had developed a
powdering process for preserving many of
the health-supporting characteristics of
fresh Aloe inner leaf gel through a
process called alcohol precipitation.
They named their resultant powder "Manapol®."
They
blended this powder with a variety of
fillers which they sold as powder
blends, in capsules, and pressed into
tablets. Several other companies sold
the Carrington Manapol® in a
variety of forms in their own product
lines. Although capsules and tablets are
very convenient, it is thought that
drinking it, dissolved in water or
juice, is most effective.
Carrington Labs then began marketing "Manapol®
Professional," a pure Manapol®
powder, for those who wanted maximum
effectiveness. This was well and good,
except their alcohol precipitation method
of extraction produced a "molecular
ball of yarn" powder form that it almost
took an act of God to effectively mix
with liquids. We learned to drop it in a
high-speed blender with juice, then
quickly drink it, rinsing the container
a few times with more juice to get most
of it off the jar and inside us. This
challenge went away with Carrington
Laboratories, as they went out of
business, obviously ceasing production and distribution of
their Manapol®
products.
Fortunately, Dr. Santiago Rodriguez, a
scientist largely responsible for the
Carrington Costa Rica Aloe plantations
and processing operations, went on to
grow extraordinary Aloe vera barbadensis
plantations under ideal conditions on a
unique island in the north China sea. He
incorporated a new, state-of-the-art
sub-zero temperature freeze-drying
process that results in not only a
higher percentage of
highly-bio-available acemannan, but in a
form that fully and completely dissolves
in water or juice. He named it BiAloe®.
(NOTE: This is not to say that some
clumping won't occur if it is dropped
into a liquid without some agitation,
but moderate agitation should disburse
and dissolve it into the liquid, making
it immediately and fully available for
assimilation by the body.)
Recommendations:
-
Do
not consume "whole-leaf" Aloe or Aloe
juice. Be certain it only contains the
inner leaf gel. If it says it is inner
leaf gel, but causes diarrhea, you will
know that it was improperly separated.
-
Do
not buy liquid Aloe juice unless you are
on an Aloe plantation, and watch them
harvest it and separate it immediately
before you drink it. Do not consume
preserved ("stabilized") juices.
-
If
you are a member of a MLM
organization that sells an Aloe powder,
be certain that their reported acemannan
percentage does not include insoluble
fiber. Depending upon the bioavaiability
of the acemannan content, a daily
serving should contain a minimum of 24
mg. pure, soluble acemannan.
-
To avoid all that
research and mathematics, just obtain
and use 160 mg. per day of genuine
AloeV 'n' Well BiAloe®.
It is certified to contain a minimum of
15% soluble. bio-available acemannan
(although most batches exceed 17%). It
can be mixed with water or juice with
only a spoon, or by employing a simple
plunging method.
As of this writing, a full day supply of
AloeV 'n' Well
BiAloe®
costs only $0.53
when
purchasing 30 g. at a time.
It comes with a measuring scoop. Just
add a heaping scoop of
AloeV 'n' Well
BiAloe®
to a glass of water or juice that you
are stirring with a spoon. It will
reconstitute as fresh and bio-active as
the day it was harvested, and will enter
your body in the most available form
possible through oral introduction.
